Global Design Project 68

This week, the challenge at Global Design Project is to case a card by designer, Jess Williams.

I'm using the layout of her card as a basis for mine: an off-centre panel that is the full height of the card base, a ribbon that goes under the panel, a large bow, the interest in the top right corner with some elements raised and no sentiment. The lovely Beautiful You set was the last out of my Occasions pre-order box so it's actually available from today! It's also been a while since I've had out the new In Colours from the current catalogue.

The large cluster of raised elements in Jess's card has been reduced to a water-coloured image with a single raised up paper-pieced umbrella. The gold dots on the original kraft panel have transformed into embossed dots of rain with the Softly Falling embossing folder.

And inside...

I've enjoyed playing with the new (stamp set) and the 'old' (the In Colours). Thanks for a great challenge inspiration GDP.

Update: So very delighted to be a winner at Global Design Project!

  5. Hi Jan, Happy New Year!!! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year holiday and your relaxing into 2017. Apart from way too many earthquakes, we had a very relaxing Christmas Day but the weather was awful. Has your weather been all over the place like ours?? Its supposed to be 30 degrees on Tuesday, so looking forward to it!! Just wanted to say too how much I love this card. The image is so pretty and love the blue/purple combo. And your always so good with the inside of your cards too (I totally forget that part). I'm back to gardening this week but only for a few hours each day. Luckily my Mum can keep an eye on the kids but I hate leaving them. Hopefully each time I have to work I can take them straight to the school pool afterwards. If your returning to work this week, I hope it won't be too full on and you don't have much to catch up on!

    1. Thanks Shona. Yes, the weather is up and down and we're supposed to get 30 on Tuesday too. School doesn't go back until the start of February so theres's a few more blessed weeks before I go back to work.
